  2. 1 A&C challenges IARC/C&L Achieved since January • High-level meetings EU-Commission • with Cabinet of Commissioner Olli Rehn (Economic and Monetary Affairs) • with IHCP of JRC at Director level • Start of informal Science Dialogue at EU and national level (e.g. IHCP + BfR Gemany) • Sensitising of key players in European Parliament • Preparing the ground at political and science levels in Rapporteur MS Germany • Initiation of alignment of joint political position between DU and producers (science-based) • Agreement on scientific line of argumentation for Annex XV discussion Main next steps • Joint FormaCare/EPF position to be finalized (ANNEX XV Task Force) • High-level meetings to be continued and extended • Sensitising of competent authorities in EU-27 Member States –> Roadshow • Submit comments in public consultation following submission (October 2010?) • strategic question: one or several in message alignment?

A&C challenges IDA 3 Achieved since January • Monitoring of evolution of EU policy-options: • Participation at the Eurofins Symposium: Emissions de formaldéhyde et de COV dans les bâtiments Réglementations et labels (Paris) • Participation at the EC workshop on: Harmonised Framework on indoor material labelling schemes: challenge with a global perspective (Ispra) • Coordination with CEFIC IDA Group • Close Monitoring of WHO work Main next steps • Re-launch dialogue with IHCP based on favorable WHO report (80ppb) • Closely coordinate with CEFIC IDA and DU • Include IDA position in C&L Roadshow and activities at EU level in Q3 + Q4
