This web application presents a comprehensive database of NMR pulse sequences, facilitating efficient sharing of data on atomic interactions among compounds. It leverages a user-friendly wiki format, enabling chemists to easily access and contribute information. Features include Git revision control for effortless updates and version recall, ensuring collaborative expansion of research ideas. The platform will also incorporate social networking tools, connecting researchers and organizations for potential job opportunities and partnerships. Currently in development, it aims to enhance the NMR community's networking capabilities.

A Web Application for Science: An NMR Pulse Sequence Database Prof. A.J. Shaka Dr. E. Fadeev Kier R. Groulx
What is NMR? • A technique to determine properties of atoms and their compounds using magnetic properties of nuclei • Achieved by irradiating a compound and analyzing how the compound reacts through generated pulse sequences • Effects are unique to compounds (no two results should be the same)
Impact of Research • NMR spectra are unique to each compound • A database containing detailed information about NMR pulse sequences would allow chemists to quickly and efficiently share collective data on how atoms interact to form differing compounds • This database could also offer a networking aspect that would allow potential researchers to find organizations interested in hiring them
The Wiki Format • Well known, simple wiki format allows for ease of access to chemists • User friendly interface allows a broad range of chemists to access or contribute to database • Flexible editing allows information concerning organizations or labs to be easily modified
Git – Revision Control • Git revision system allows for pulse sequences to be easily modified • Previous versions of pulse sequences can be recalled with ease • Other researchers can expand upon previously proposed ideas
Social Networking Aspect • Tools to network within the industry will eventually be present • People and organizations will have their own information pages and messaging systems • Can be expanded into job postings and collaborative networking
Where are we now? • Not yet finished, but well under way • Code will be integrated with the already existing site wiki for NMR • www.nmrwiki.org
