Look at long-term (3-5 years) and short-term goals (1-2 years) • Examples • Long term goals • Standardized IRIS workshop content for teachers and students • Reach for industry support for summer placements / internships / assistance in IPR protocols • Ensure participation from all 35 states in India • Short term goals • Professional Development workshops for teachers to promote STEM outreach • Inspire students to take on research • Create a university/research institutes network to solicit local mentors

  3. Objectives • How will you know you succeeded? Please list the results you want to see • Orient a minimum of 1000 selected teachers to inspire students to take on research based activities • Student participation increases – representation from all state science fairs • Volunteers/mentors increases 100% during the 2010-2011 school year • Collaborate with Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research
