Togiak Environmental Program

DESCRIPTION

The Togiak Environmental Program aims to expand the lifespan of our landfill while protecting community health and the environment from hazardous waste. Our project focuses on the backhaul of recyclable waste, including proper preparation of scrap metals and removal of hazardous materials. We plan to hire trained laborers, purchase necessary equipment, and implement training on handling and disposal. By effectively managing solid waste, we will significantly improve our community's environmental quality and reduce health risks.

  2. Backhaul Recyclable Waste • Goal: Expand life of current landfill/protect environment and human heath from exposure to hazards in solid waste stream.

  3. Component and Output • Expand the Life of our landfill by preparing scrap metals for backhaul • Achieve significant improvements to the quality of the environment , and our community’s management of our solid waste. Hazardous wastes will be removed from scrap metals in our landfill.
