  5. Major Road Network • Announced Dec 2018 • Most economically important A class local authority managed roads • Sits between the Strategic Road Network and the local road network • Funding available through the National Roads Fund from early 2020’s

  9. Transport for the South EastSub National Transport Body • Economic Connectivity Review – July 2018 • Development of Transport Strategy – to be completed by Sept 2019 • Formal consultation on powers and responsibilities – summer 2019 • Statutory Status - 2020

Infrastructure to unlock jobs and homes • North Bexhill Access Road • 28,000sqm employment space & approx 500 new homes • Queensway Gateway Road • unlock 12,000sqm employment space • Newhaven Port Access Road • Integral to the Newhaven Enterprise Zone • A22 Hailsham/Stone Cross junction package – MRN scheme

  11. Local Transport Improvements and Pipeline Projects • 2018/19 Programme – over £8m delivering a mix of schemes in scale and value • 2019/20 Programme – over £10m • Funded from Local Growth Fund, development contributions and county council funding. • Continue development of pipeline projects

  12. Eastbourne Town Centre • Phase 1 currently on site (£8m) • Phase 2 currently being developed (£3m) • Hastings and Bexhill – schemes being developed to be delivered using Local Growth Fund monies • Future High Streets Fund Regenerating Town Centres

Local Cycling and Walking Investment Plan andActive Access for Growth Programme • Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan • New approach to identifying cycling and walking improvements • Accompanied by cycling and walking strategy and policies • Active Access for Growth • 3 year £1.4m revenue funded programme delivering a range of cycling and walking initiatives
