The Office of the Public Guardian serves as the last resort guardian for disabled adults with estates exceeding $25,000. This office also provides legal representation as guardian ad litem in child protection cases and acts as a child’s representative in domestic relations matters. With a focus on individuals who are unable to manage their own affairs due to mental illness, developmental disabilities, or other incapacities, the Public Guardian has handled over 8,000 cases and recovered millions in cases involving financial exploitation.
