Overview • generic mechanism for conveying a set of medical documents between parties • "neutral" vis-à-vis the document content • as much as possible compatible with XDS • as much as possible compatible with PDI • using two transport mechanisms: • (secure) mail • portable media (CD / USB key) IHE ITI Point-to-Point & Media Document Interchange

Open Issues • ebMS vs. MTOM over SMTP ? => re-use ebMS (for the moment) with the MTOM multipart/related « flavors » • Meta-data to be added (sender, recipients…) • One vs. Set of submissionSets on a media => set of, without « metadata manifest », only index.html • Links from documents to images « conveyed » together => use the XDS-I manifest IHE ITI Point-to-Point & Media Document Interchange
