How to Apply • Visit www.soe.vt.edu/englished/admissions • Ensure you fulfill the requirements listed for admission • Maintain a 3.0 GPA • Receive a B.A. in English or fulfill required 36 credits of English coursework beyond freshman level • Submit application to the Graduate School at Virginia Tech • Submit 3 letters of recommendation to the program (not to the graduate school)

How to Apply- cont. • Submit the English Education Program Application and complete the English Education Requirements Checklist • Both are found on English Education admissions page • Register and pass the Praxis I and II tests, as well as the Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment (VCLA) • To register for the Praxis tests visit http://www.ets.org/praxis/register • To register for the VCLA test visit http://www.va.nesinc.com
