  1. The Cardinal Cadet 31 October 2013 Editor Cadet 2LT Tiffany Mills Volume 20 #2 Important Events and Dates: Drill Meet Nov. 23rd, Thanksgiving Holiday Nov. 27-29, Christmas Parade 29th. Basketball Color Guards start the 26th. Salvation Army Bell Ringing Dec. 7th Rifle team: Rifle has two practices a week, members are strongly encouraged to attend both of them, but are only required to attend one. Captain TIFFANY MILLS Members: Charles Butler Kyle Wilson Jessy Lawrence Roger Peek Colton Barnes Kevin George Nicole Mills Marshall Eisenhauer Jordan Bigler Brandon Rogers Wesley Abbott Brandon Thompson Rifle and Drill are really taking off, they have been practicing and getting ready for their competitions coming up. Friday November first rifle will be heading to Willard for their first rifle match. They have practiced really hard and are on their way to becoming great shooters. Drill has a Meet coming up later on this month, they have about three practices a week and feel that they are almost ready to take on their first challenge. SAI CORNER: Cadets, you totally impressed me at the 9-11 Ceremony. And your uniforms are looking amazing! Competitions are getting hot and we need more of you REGULARLY attending practice. Let’s all work together to make this Veterans Day one we will all remember – one where we honored veterans as never before.– GO CARDINAL BATTALION! LTC (R) Blalock

  2. AI Corner: The school year is in full swing and JROTC has a lot of things going on. I am excited that there are more cadets getting involved in the extra-curricular activities that JROTC offers; Raider Team, Drill Team, Rifle Team, and Color Guard. Students are encouraged to participate in these activities before and after school on the scheduled days. These programs require many hours of hard work, commitment and dedication. If your student isn’t participating in at least one of these activities, then they are missing out on a great opportunity to have more fun, than they realize. JROTC is not like your normal high school class. It can be very fun and rewarding at the same time. I would really like more cadets to get involved. Uniform wear is a weekly requirement, parents please encourage your students to be responsible and wear their uniform on Wednesday’s or as designated. As we start receiving the new Army uniform, the Army Service Uniform (ASU’s), we will start with the upper level cadets and then work our way down to the LET I’s (Freshman). If there are any cadets that need to make-up uniform inspections, those cadets will not be issued the new uniform until all uniform inspections are made up. SFC (R) Biddle
