  4. What’s NEW? Badge Colors • New badges will contain a colored overlay designating each patient care specialty, if applicable (example: Clinical Physician-dark green) • Infant handler badges will include the pink color overlay, in addition to the color representing their patient care specialty

Badge TechnologyMagnetic Stripe The new badge will contain a random ID number within the magnetic stripe • Kronos Access - Data transfer will occur overnight Employee ID number is an alternative to swiping • Building Access - Data transfer will occur immediately • Commodore Card Funds - Data transfer will occur immediately

Badge TechnologyProximity Usage • The new badge will allow future proximity reader use and virtualization access at the clinical workstations. • Due to the sensitivity of the badge; inadvertently puncturing it with any type of pin or hole punch (outside the hang tag punch) will impact the functionality of the badge.
