  8. SHSAthletics Panther Core Values • Honesty • Honor Others • No Stealing • No Drugs • No Complaining and Growing!

  9. THE PROCESS • Relationships: The Process starts here. Players and coaches must trust one another and be able to stay on the same page with one goal in mind. We strive to constantly affirm our players and build them up. We must identify their weaknesses and strengths and intentionally prepare both for competition. Coaches strive tocreate a positive culture and climate for our athletes so they feel confident to perform at a high level in routine and pressure situations.

  10. Process • Development – Players will develop technique and understanding of their positions, individual roles, and Offensive & Defensive strategies in order to allow our team to be successful. • Player development: Physically – sport specific training, agility, speed, strength training, cardio conditioning, etc. Mentally – positive thinking, understanding the rules and strategies of the game, progressions, etc. Emotionally – self control, discipline, overcoming adversity, etc.

  11. Process • Planning Implement & Execute the plan - Players and Coaches alike will implement a game plan each week that gives us the best chance to be successful. We desire for all of our athletes to perform at a high level during competitions. Coaches study film and develop game plans to meet our needs each week as we prepare for our opponents.

  12. Process • Success & Products – If our process is followed and everyone involved buys into our system, I feel like our products will be what we want them to be. Success will come if all stakeholders stay true to our core values and show a high level of commitment to everything we do.

  13. Process • Review & Evaluate – We feel like it’s important to always review and evaluate our process. Coaches keep ongoing evaluations so we can determine players strengths and weaknesses. Everyone involved in the program is encouraged to review and evaluate our process to make sure we are offering the best methods and procedures for our players. Coaches constantly assess to see what changes need to be made week after week and day by day for the overall improvement of the program. Practice plans are developed daily to ensure that short term goals are met and to keep players progressing.

  14. Characteristics of our Team • Sportsmanship • Effort • Integrity • Truth • Honesty • Organized • Intentional • Focused • Successful • Committed • Competitive Spirit • Champions

  15. Team Culture & Climate • Positive & Encouraging • Safe and developmentally appropriate • Positive feedback and reinforcement outweighs negative • Correction vs. Criticize • Teach vs. Judge • Punishment (take away privileges) • Mutual respect among everyone involved in program • High Expectations • Motivation techniques are used on consistent basis

  16. 1st year player vs. experienced • We believe there is an even playing field for EVERYONE. While experience is important, we feel that all players have equal opportunity to show skill and ability. • Players must prove their talent and ability to earn a spot in competitions. It’s very important for players to understand their role and know that middle school is a developmental stage in their football career. • We don’t judge players. We teach, evaluate, and place them where we feel it is best for the team. • We will put players on the field that have proven themselves and earned a spot according to our ongoing assessments.
