  1. The Good Samaritan Luke 10: 25-37

  2. One day Jesus was sitting with a bunch of men. One of the men asked Jesus, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “What is written in the Law?” Jesus asked. The man answered, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Jesus told them that’s what they should do. Then the man asked, “Who is my neighbor?”

  3. Jesus started telling them a story to help them understand. There was a man who was walking from Jerusalem to Jericho, when all of the sudden robbers jumped out of the bushes. They beat him up and took all of his clothes. Then they just left him there to die.

  4. After the robbers left a priest from the Temple came along. The priest saw the man lying there on the ground all beaten up and decided he would walk on the other side of the road.

  5. Later on a Levite came along. A Levite is a man who works in the Temple with the priest. But he also crossed walked on the other side of the street so that he wouldn’t have to help the man.

  6. Then a Samaritan came along and saw the man on the side of the road. The Jews didn’t like the Samaritan, but when he saw the man on the side of the road he had to help him. So he went to the man and put bandages on his wounds and put him on his donkey. He took him to an inn that night and took care of him. The next day the Samaritan had to leave so he gave the innkeeper 2 silver coins. “Look after him and I when I come back I will pay for anything else that he needs.”

  7. After the story Jesus asked the men “Who do you think was the neighbor to the man who got robbed?” The men said, “The man that helped him.” So Jesus told the men to act like the Samaritan and be kind to your neighbors.
