The Authoritative Jesus: Bringing God's Rule to All People

In Mark's Gospel, chapter 1, Jesus emerges as the leader our hearts long for. He is a man of authority, a prophet who brings God to people, a priest who brings people to God, and a king who establishes God's rule. Jesus is more concerned with the quality of response than the quantity of the crowd. He welcomes everyone and is willing to switch places with us, taking our sin and offering us his righteousness. His love and acceptance compel us to share this transformative message with others.
