  1. Protein-Rich Snacks That Are Portable & Healthy If you lead a busy lifestyle, you know that sometimes being able to make time for a meal also feels like a luxury. How can you satiate your hunger, then, when it strikes? The answer is one resounding word - snacks! Hold on, though. We don’t mean binging on potato chips or guzzling down juice boxes. We mean protein snacks that are delicious, healthy, easy to digest and nutritious. Why protein snacks, you ask? Protein helps your gut feel full for a longer period of time and releases appetite-suppressing hormones that helps you stay satiated for a longer period of time and prevent snacking on junk. Wondering what kind of protein-rich snacks you can consume? Here are a few healthy, portable snacks that you can opt for. Greek Yogurt Parfait It’s no surprise that yogurt is a high-protein snack and is super filling and nourishing. It is also high in calcium and contributes to bone health. How can you make yogurt more interesting to consume? Add some granola and mixed berries to it! The additional texture and sweetness doesn’t just taste good but also adds nutrients to your snack. Peanut Butter & Celery Sticks Peanut butter is known to be very filling, nutritious and nourishing. Not to mention it is finger licking good. To whip up a quick and easy snack, you can smear peanut butter on celery sticks and snack on this crunchy, smooth snack. This snack can also be consumed between meals to control hunger pangs and reduce appetite. Energy Bars/Energy Bites We’re sure you’ve heard of meal replacements bars, and yes, this snack is pretty much the same thing, except, these are home made and super easy to make! Combine ingredients like oats, seeds, dried fruits, nut butter, jaggery etc and then roll them into bite-size balls or bars. These delicious and nutritious bars don’t require any kind of baking or cooking and can be carried around to be snacked on whenever you feel hungry or crave something sweet. Since it contains no artificial sugar, it is a healthy way to satiate your sweet tooth without adding those calories!

  2. Jerky Strips A jerky is basically meat that is cut into strips, trimmed of fats and then dried. Jerky strips are a great source of protein, are super easy to make and easy to carry too. Any meat can be made into jerky strips according to your preference but avoid store bought jerky strips as they contain an unnecessary amount of artificial ingredients. Trail Mix A trail mix is essentially a combination of nuts and dried fruits and sometimes grains too. A trail mix is a great way to fulfill your daily protein requirement or eat between meals when you feel hungry. You can alter a trail mix based on your tastes and preferences and can also add some chocolate to it to satiate your sweet tooth in a healthy way. Remember, don’t binge-eat a trail mix as dried fruits and nuts are high in calories.
