PDB - Introduction Main Power • Typically, PDB’s facilitate getting power from the Main (high ampacity) to the Load (low ampacity), while conforming to Codes and specs. • The “Primary” is the input side of the PDB and accepts large wires from the main switch. • The “Secondary” is the output side and can usually accommodate a lot of smaller wires that continue on to the loads. 3-pole PDB’s Loads

  6. What is it? • Copper or aluminum block designed to provide a convenient method of splicing cable or splitting primary power into multiple secondary circuits. • Approved for use in UL 508A industrial control panels • Finger-safe providing protection against electrical shock
