Locations and Who We Are Council Offices – Union 321 Council oversees a dedicated student fee, develops opportunities for students in student media, ensures resources and ability for student media to operate. The Daily Utah Chronicle – Union 321 Oldest part of the Council, since 1890. Also largest part of council with over 80 student employees. Editorial is completely student run. University Media Sales Group – Union 321 Sells advertising for Council groups and other various products. KUTE – Union 4th Floor Underdeveloped, underfunded part of Council with aims to grow opportunities in student broadcast. Absolute Communication – LNCO 2950 Newest part of Council, goal to become a self-sustaining operating unit with the ability to help clients find creative solutions to their business problems. Other Publications – All over Campus
  3. Support/Help Info I am support. With A LOT of reliance on the IT Managers and Mac Managers lists for help and advice.
  4. Services Goal is to provide information to campus as effectively and efficiently as possible. Primary focus is enabling students with the technology resources to do so. Chronicle Printed newspaper Online and email version Audio and video news pieces KUTE AM broadcast Online streaming Audio and video components
  5. Services Absolute Communication Whole range of communications services – marketing, PR, campaign planning, creative services, social networking, etc. Question is: How can we tie it all together, create integration, and foster student education and training?

Technologies – We use internally AdPro Accounting and Advertising Software Recently Moved to hosted version Backbone of all business & advertising operations Integrates with layout software (AdForce & ClassForce) College Publisher CMS for Chronicle website Difficult to manipulate Control of space, flexibility of design are concerns KUTE Playlist, soundboard, and other software Streaming software and components

Challenges Web Design CP is a stop gap solution Students with real talent at working with the web are rare Ultimately would like self-hosted/maintained site Also need ability to integrate sites, do work on other sites Currently receiving Tech Ed training Complex Problems Handling routine IT issues is easy Limited knowledge drives need for more help University Broadcast Network Work with U Marketing, but knowledge is limited
