Who were the Pony Express? • The men who worked in the Pony Express were expert horseback riders. • They were under 18, so they would be lightweight. • They where skinny and scrawny and preferred to be orphans.
What did they do? • They brought mail to people from east to west. • They rode on ponies and passed each other the letters so it only took 10 days to get the letters from east to west! • They did many things to send mail, and the they risked there lives to do it!
Why did they do it? • There was no one to send mail at that time so the Pony Express was formed. • They did it because there was no fast way to send letters. • People wanted to send packages to each other.
When did they do the Pony Express? • They only did it for one and a half years. • It started in 1860. • It ended in 1861. TIK- TOK TIK- TOK
Where did they do it? • They did it all around the US • They all had posts they worked at and they passed the letter to each other at their posts and went to the next post.
