  1. WHY NUTS ARE HEALTHY FOR YOU?

  2. While nuts have a lot of benefits for your health, the one benefit that stands out in particular is - Practicality. Nuts are great versatile snacks and ingredients. Grabbing a handful of nuts from the little bag in your handbag saves you a big amount of regret later on when you realize that you have binged on something that you should not have. Because they are practical, easy to carry, require no preparation and have a host of benefits nuts make for healthy snacks. Read on for reasons why nuts are healthy for you.

  3. Fats: Sometimes we spend so much energy avoiding fats in out food - the time we jump out of our skin when we see a ghee laden chapatti or the time we refuse a piece of bread soaked in butter – that nuts are the best way to get those required healthy fats into your body without feeling guilty. Since the fats that come from nuts are natural and are not chemically processed, this makes them heart healthy, filling, nutritious option.

  4. Proteins – Nuts are packed with proteins. While most other snacks are packed with carbs and other empty calories, nuts are one of the few snack items that have proteins and fill you up for a very long time

  5. Good for your heart – According to Mayo clinic “People who eat nuts as part of a heart-healthy diet can lower the LDL, low-density lipoprotein or "bad," cholesterol level in their blood. High LDL is one of the primary causes of heart disease. Eating nuts reduces your risk of developing blood clots that can cause a fatal heart attack. Nuts also improve the health of the lining of your arteries.

  6. Versatility – nuts are easy to carry around with you. They are also versatile because you can use them to make many more healthy and filling snacks. Nut butters, flourless pie crusts, and a crunchy salad awaits you.

  7. Nutrition – Selenium: This handy mineral activates an antioxidant called glutathione peroxidase. You don’t have to remember that, just know it’s really good at helping fight free radical oxidation in the body. Some studies suggest selenium might even help fight cancer. Antioxident E and A are also found in nuts.
