Article: “Research data management in Turkey: perceptions and practices” - (March 2017) Resultsconformwith international reviews The massive increase in researchdatabeingproducednowadayshashighlightedtheimportanceofresearchdatamanagement (RDM) toscience. Research data not onlyhavetobecosteffective but also reliable, discoverable, accessible, andreusable. In thisregard, thepurposeofthispaperistoinvestigatetheperceptionsandpracticesofTurkishresearchers on thesubjectof RDM. Design/methodology/approach: An online survey was distributedtotheacademicians in 25 universities in Turkey, and 532 responsesweregathered. Findings: ResultsindicatethatalthoughTurkishresearchersareawareofthebenefitsofdatamanagement, arewillingtosharetheirresearchdatawithcertaingroups, andhavedecentpreservationhabits, they express thatthey lack thetechnicalskillsandknowledgeneededfor RDM. In addition, noinstitutionalizedsupport (staff, training, software, andhardware) isprovidedtoresearchers. Research limitations/implications: A well-structureddatastrategyorpolicythatincludesresourceallocation (awareness, training, software/hardware) andissupportedbyTurkishresearchagenciesisrequiredforbetterdatamanagementpracticesamongresearchers in Turkey. Originality/value: This isthefirststudythatinvestigatesthedatapracticesofTurkishacademicswhoproducearound 30,000 scientificarticlesannuallythatareindexedby Web of Science.   26. Resultsof BISA (Bibliosan per la ScienzaAperta) survey on open researchdata.Working Group BISA2017, vi, 54 p. (in Italian)  The Working Group BISA (Bibliosan per la scienzaaperta), setup in June 2016 withinBibliosan (Library System ofItalian Biomedical Research Institutions), carried out a surveytoprovide an overviewofthehandlingofresearchdataproducedbytheinstitutionsbelongingtotheBibliosansystem. The survey, based on an online questionnaire, was addressedto all 59 institutionsinvolvedin theBibliosannetworkandtheresearchfindingsarepresented in thisreport. Survey’sresultsshowthecurrentscenarioofrolesandresponsibilitiesinvolved in themanagementofresearchdatawithintheItalianscientificcommunityofBibliosanaswellastheobstaclesthatneedtobeovercomefor an efficientandsustainabledatahandling.
