Tentative • Not final • Adjective • When the poor, unknowing little girl noticed the gorilla statue, her steps became tentative to such an extent that she would stop for minutes at a time to simply stare in fear.
Provocative • Exciting; attracting attention • Adjective • The unusual sculpture was provocative to such an extent that it had to be relocated to a less noticable location.

Adversary • An opponent; enemy • Noun • The man had acquired many a powerful adversary over the years due to his willingness to make sacrifices in order to achieve goals during the time in which he was a buisnessman.
