  1. Lanier High School Community Based Instruction1756 South Court Street Montgomery, AL 36104Phone: 334-269-6162 Dear Parent/Guardian: Welcome to Mr. Harris and Ms. Belser’s classrooms. We are looking forward to working with you to ensure that your child will have a quality learning experience this year. This year we will continue to work independent living skills that would include cooking, washing, ironing, and cleaning. In order for us to practice cooking skills we are asking each student to pay ten dollars ($10.00) a month cooking fees. We will cook once or twice a week Monday or Thursday. A reminder note will be sent home on a regular basis. We will go to various stores in the city on a weekly basis (usually Wednesdays and Fridays) to practice independent living skills. Your child is allowed to have snack in the classroom, but it is your responsibility to send your child a snack. This is optional and is not mandatory. Please go over everything in the packet of materials completing and returning the necessary items. Be especially certain to cover the Lanier High School Handbook and the Montgomery Public Schools Code of Student Behavior. Breakfast in the cafeteria is $1.00 and lunch is $2.00 or you may qualify for free or reduced lunch. You must fill out the lunch form to qualify for anything other than full price.
