It is of two types the internal radiotherapy that is done inside the body and external radiotherapy that is done outside the body. Radiotherapy is the treatment given to patients to cure cancer that is not spread outside the prostate glands (confined prostate cancer), and a high dosage of radiation is given in that area. This type of treatment is known as radical radiotherapy. It is not possible to completely eliminate prostate cancer from the body but radiotherapy to some extent can control it.
