S11/S175 Audits – new approach Section 11 of the Children Act 2004 places duties on a range of organisations and individuals to ensure their functions, and any services that they contract out to others, are discharged having regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This ‘Section 11 Audit’ is designed to allow the BSCP to assure itself that agencies placed under a duty to co-operate by this legislation, are fulfilling their responsibilities to safeguard children and promote their welfare. It aims to support compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance and the S175 return.

Children Missing Education September 2016 Statutory Guidance – CME includes: • CME • Persistent absenteeism • Part time timetables Key indicators of additional unmet needs, especially important as an Early Help trigger or in CSC, especially for Missing, CSE and exploitation Are schools using these indicators to contact MASH? Challenge • PA data termly in arrears other than primary PN at 10 days • No part time timetable • No fixed terms exclusions data = unable to identify needs early enough, trends, link to key linked issues that schools might be unaware How can we gain access to this information?

SUE – service user experience • All children and parents/carers engaged on Early Help or CSC activity • Focus is for all services not just CSC • Alignment and coherence of service delivery across all Partner Agencies; Systems development / improvement; and professional development • Feedback to all services when feedback provided • Quarterly reporting • Combination of surveys, focus groups, complaints and compliments, MOMO analysis (app). • Encourage DSLs to engage all children known to the services to provide their feedback https://thebarnetscp.org.uk/bscp
