  2. ROAD SAFETY • Road traffic safety refers to the methods and measures used to prevent road users from being killed or seriously injured. • Road users include: pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, vehicle passengers, and bus riders.

  3. Why is Road Safety Important? • Children and young people are at risk on the roads. • We all need to learn to use the road responsibily. • Road safety education plays an important role in shaping the attitudes and behaviorsofchildren and young people.

  4. Pedestrian Walk Signal • The WALK signal is found at busy intersections. • It means that it is OKAY for you to cross the street.

  5. Pedestrian Do Not Walk Signal • The DO NOT WALK signal is a picture of a red hand, meaning you should STOP.
