  1. Forces That Shape the Earth By: Shay and Abby

  2. Plate Tectonics It is the Scientific Theory which describes the movement of Earth's lithosphere

  3. Divergent • When plates go apart.

  4. Convergent • When plates go together

  5. Transform and Subduction • Its is where 2 plates are moving opposite directions as they slide along each other.

  6. Trenches

  7. Mid – Ocean Ridges • It is an underwater mountain range.

  8. Volcanoes • It is an opening in earth’s crust

  9. Earthquakes • A series of vibration caused by the earth’s crust moving.

  10. Folding

  11. Faulting • When plates slide past each other

  12. Rock Cycle • Is a group of rocks going through changes with different heat levels.

  13. Igneous • It forms when magma cools and makes crystals.

  14. Sedimentary • It forms when sediments are compounded and compacted.

  15. Metamorphic • Metamorphic Rocks are formed from pre – existing rocks into new rocks.

  16. Weathering • The breaking down of rocks and then being smoothed out.

  17. Mechanical • Happens when rocks are being brock down without any change in the chemical nature.

  18. Chemical

  19. Erosion and agents

  20. Make a power point presentation on “Forces that Shape the Earth”. • Include- • Plate Tectonics- Convergent, divergent, transform, subduction, trenches, mid-ocean ridges, volcanoes, earthquakes, folding and faulting • Rock Cycle- igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic • Weathering- mechanical and chemical • Erosion and its agents • Take at least 5 images using the digital camera that include you or your partner that represent the topics above: an example would be a tree root splitting a rock with you pointing at it. • You must have at least 20 slides- include a title page • You must insert at least three sounds • You must use at least three special effects • Be sure you have no spelling or grammatical errors • Delete this page when done.
