  2. Origins Lolita style is a very well known fashion style in Japan, just for girls. It is becoming popular in other places, such as Australia and many other countries of Europe. It began in 1998 but it was in 2004 when it became more popular. Inside Lolita style we can differenciate some substyles. The most popular one is Gothic Lolita, which is influenced by Goth style.

  3. Influences The Gothic Lolita style is inspired in the Edwardian and Victorian period. Girls also try to copy the old porcelain dolls style and dresses.As the name indicates, Goth style is also present in this substyle. The predominant colours are white and black, but lot of girls also wear other colours as red, blue and pink. Manga, the japanese comic, is a very important fact in the Gothic Lolita. Lots of comics designers are inspired in this fashion style to draw their comics

  4. Clothes and accesories Gothic Lolita style includes laces and lariats. The skirts often have underskirts and socks often reach the knee height. Many girls wear top hats or parasols as complements. Some of them carry dolls with them, making the style seem sometimes a little bit child – like.

  5. Manga and cosplay. As it is said before, the manga is an important fact in this style. This kind of comic is now known everwhere. Lots of Japanese cultural phenomenoms are becomig popular in many European countries, as, for example, cosplay. A cosplay is a disguise of a manga character. People enjoy copying manga characters; and the fact that many popular mangas are inspired in Gothic Lolita attract people to think in Gothic Lolita as a new style, not only a way of disguise or a diferent style in Japan .
