  4. The Problem • Floods are the most frequent and costly of natural disasters • Major Problems: • Location and timeliness • Lack of project proposals • How are victims affected? • No shelter • Water-borne diseases • Injuries

  17. Clinic Logistics • Size: Approximately 2000 square feet • Medical Responsibilities of the Clinic • Hours of Operation: 8:00AM to 8:00PM • Thirty patients served at any one time • Approximately 100 patients served per day • Non-flood season

Medicines & Vaccines: One-month Supply of Medications Refrigeration Re-supplying the Medications World Health Organization List of Essential Medications Medical records: Digital - computer Manual - index cards, whiteboard, and notebook Clean Water: Problems with Lack of Clean Water 700 Gallons of Clean Water per week (1 gallon/person/day) Boiling Water Iodine Tablets Triage Trained community health workers Transportation to hospitals or other medical centers Medical necessities
