Dairy. By: Summer Loucks & Kara Matchett. How much DAIRY do we need a day?. How much is in a cup?. In general, 1 cup of milk or yogurt, 1 ½ ounces of natural cheese, or 2 ounces of processed cheese can be considered as 1 cup from the milk group. 8 ounce of Yogurt= 1 cup.

  4. In general, 1 cup of milk or yogurt, 1 ½ ounces of natural cheese, or 2 ounces of processed cheese can be considered as 1 cup from the milk group.

  5. 8 ounce of Yogurt= 1 cup 1/3 cup of shredded cheddar cheese 8 ounce SKIM milk= 1 cup Two slices- ¾ ounce each Of Swiss Cheese ½ of a cup: pudding

BENEFITS of DAIRY • Reduces risk of low bone mass • Dairy includes: calcium, potassium, Vitamin D and protein. • Reduces risk of Osteoporosis • Diets that include milk products tend to have a higher overall nutritional quality. • Calcium + Vitamin D (building the strength of bones) • Potassium (maintain healthy blood pressure)
