  1. The energy and the wind power farms in spain Alternative energies: the energy for the future?

  2. Spain has a large dependence on oil and electricity. There is very little use of coal and of alternative energy. Natural gas is less independent than electricity. Energy consumption in Spain 2001

  3. Catalonia has a large dependence on oil and electricity. There is very little use of coal and of alternative energy. Natural gas is less independent than electricity. Wastes non-renewable are the least used of all energy resources. Energy consumption in Catalonia 1990

  4. Oil consumption is kept almost the same as in 1990. Natural gas consumed more than in 1990. Electricity consumption has a very similar to year 1990. Renewable energy is consumed slightly more than in year 1990. Coal is consumed slightly more than in year 1990. Consum energètic Catalunya 2000

  5. The most energy produced in Catalonia in 1990 was the nuclear energy (79,90%). The second energy most produced in Catalonia was oil energy (10%). The third energy produced was the alternative energies (7,40%).The fourth energy produced was the coal (2,50%). And the last energy produced was the no removables wastes. Primary energy production in Catalonia. 1990

  6. The first primary energy produced in Catalonia in 2000 was the nuclear energy(86,70%). The second primary energy produced in Catalonia in 2000 were the alternatives energies (8,30%). The third primary energy produced was the oil (3%). The fourth primary energy produced was the coal (1,5%). The fifth primary energy produced were no removable wastes. Primary energy production in Catalonia. 2000

  7. The most importants alternative energies consummated in Spain in 2004 were: the first was Biomass ( 45%), the second was Hydraulic (25%) and the third was the Wind power energy (15%). Consumption of alternative energies in Spain. 2004

  8. Comparing the residential consumption in Spain and Europe: in Europe the consumption in heating is bigger than the Spain one because of the weather. In Spain there are more consumption of hot water and air conditioning. Consumption of energy in the residential sector.

  9. Final energy intensity is above the European Spanish, but purchasing parity comes to a similar level in Europe for the introduction of alternatives energy sources. Respect of the tertiary sector, Spain is above Alemania and Belgica but it goes up because of the tourism and the air conditioned. Europe comparative

  10. The most electric consumption in the world is concentrated in North America, Europe, China, Russia, Australia i Brazil. African countries and developing countries have a lower consumption rate. Electricity consumption for country in Kwh

  11. Comparing with the graffic of the 2000: The petrollowoilconsumption. Increases the consumption of electricity and natural gas. Increases the consumption of renewable energies Spainenergyconsumptionin 2010

  12. The most alternative energy consummated was the Biomass (36%), the second most consummated was the wind power energy, the third was the Hydroelectric and the fourth was the biofuels. Energy consumption in Spain. 2009

  13. The most energy consummated in Catalonia was oil (49,30%). The second energy consummated was electricity (26,70%). The third energy consummated was the natural gas (21,10%). The fourth energy consummated was alternative energies. (2,30%). The fifth energy consummated was the coal (0,20%). Energy consumption in Catalonia. 2009

  14. The most energy produced in Catalonia was nuclear (81,80%). The second energy produced was alternatives energies (14,60%). The third energy produced was the oil (2%). The fourth energy produced was no removableswestes. (1,20%). The fifth energy produced was the coal(0,70%). The primaryenergyproduction in Catalonia. 2009

  15. In these graphics we can see the increase of production by wind power in the world from 2000 to 2011. Actually the first producer in the world is China and the second is USA. In Europe the first producer is Germany (the third in the world). The first producer of wind power farms offshore is United Kingdom. Wind power energy in the world and europe

  16. Spain is the fourth producer of wind power energy in the world and the second in Europe. Now it produce 21673 MW. There are some laws to promote the alternative energies like National Plan of Alternative Energies (2011). This plan want to increase the production of wind power until 35000 MW in 2020. There are low taxes and economical helps for this kind of installations. The windpowerenergy in Spain

  17. By regions the most important production of wind power energy is in Castilla- La Mancha, Castilla León (in the center), Galicia ( in the north west), Aragón (in the north east) and Andalucía (in the south). Balearic island and Cantabria (in the north) are the regions with less production of wind power. The wind power energy in Spain

  18. In the first map we can see the speed wind for regions. The dark violet mark the areas where the speed of the wind can be highest. The second map shows the regions for the hours of wind in a year. Areas A, B and C have more than 1750 hours of wind in a year. The wind power energy in Spain

  19. The first wind power farm of Catalonia was built in 1984 in Garriguelles. In 90’s were built other wind power farms, but the most important increase is produced in XXI century. Actually there are 14 wind power farms in Catalonia (the eighth region in Spain) The windpowerenergy in catalonia

  20. The Plan of Energy of Catalonia 2006-2015 says that the limit of production of wind power energy is 3000 MW. In the first map we can see in red the areas where it’s impossible to build wind power farms for environment reasons. In the second map we can see more windy areas from brown to blue. The future of windpowerenergy in catalonia

  21. This wind power farm was built in 2004 (33 windmills), in 2008 was increased in 17 windmills more. Actually there are 50 windmills. It’s situated in three towns: Rubió, Òdena and Castellfollit del Boix (15 km. from Calaf). In the same area we can see two more power wind farms: Montmaneu and Pujalt. The windpowerfarm of rubió

  22. The maximum power of wind power farm is 1500 Kw and the maximum production is 3180000 Kw/h. The tower of these windmills are 80 m. high. The sails are 37.4 m. long. The tower is made of iron and weighs 120 tones. The sails are made of special plastic and weigh 6.8 tones. In the graphic we can see the work of the rotors, they pass from 16 rpm in the sails until 1100 rpm inside. The windpowerfarm of rubió

  23. The most Spain electricity production is Thermal. The second most produced is nuclear energy. The renewables energies has got importance and now they are the third most produced. Hydro energy remains the same over the years and is the fourth. Spain’selectricityproduction

  24. As years pass, the consumption of oil decreasing, coal and renewable energy consumption was maintaining, nuclear energy increases quite little and natural gas increases so much. Evolució de consumenergètic 2030

  25. A American scientific study says that could guarantee 95% of global energy consumption with renewable energy by 2050.How can:With active policies to promote the use and production of renewable energy.Although the current technological knowledge are important, we should also encourage research in this field. Is it possible…?
