  1. Bell Activity • Label your paper Bell Activity, with today’s date • On your own, think about your favorite classes that you have ever had. What was the teacher like? What were the students like? What made the class run so well? Why was learning so easy in that class? • On a piece of paper write down some characteristics of that class that made it so great. 8/18/10

  2. Bell Activity • Draw a line under yesterday’s bell activity and write today’s date. • Yesterday you made up some guidelines for the way students and the teacher should act in class. In the back and front of the room are the other periods ideas. • What would be acceptable consequences for not following the guidelines? Write down at least 3 consequences, and describe what the consequences should be for. 8/19/10

  3. Bell Activity • Take the Nacirema reading from the side table. • Use the first 10-15 min. to go over the reading by yourself. • On your bell activity paper write a brief (5 sentence minimum) summary of the “Body Ritual of the Nacirema”. 8/20/10

Spielvogel, Jackson J., World History, McGraw Hill Glencoe, 2005, Print World History is a textbook that provides a variety of information on world events from the beginning of time to the present. The source is very reliable as it is a high school textbook written by a Ph.D. I recommend the source, it has trustworthy, factual information.
