  5. Action plan - Resources • Media Specialist attends MYP training • Media Specialist integral part of collaborative meetings • Spanish language will be provided at every grade level • Develop plan to integrate the Personal Project into MYP.

Action Plan - Curriculum • Collaborative Planning • Meet regularly • Access to current IB Publications • Teachers will collaborate with IB Coordinator • Written Curriculum • Unit plans according to MYP guidelines • Inquiry and international mindedness • Use Areas of Interaction • Variety of strategies/differentiation • Extension activities • Students active in learning • Assessment • End assessment = current unit and reflection • Student portfolios = evidence of LP and reflection

What does this mean for teachers? • Focus on the integration of the Learner Profile • Ensure that students are active learners in the classroom • 1 unit plan both planned and taught before Winter Break • May be grade level or individual • Must be cross curricular • Must collaborate with another teacher • Must be focused on global issues/international mindedness

MYP – Next Chapter • IB is reevaluating MYP and aligning IB with State and National requirements • Ready for implementation September 2014 • Concept-based • Focused on global contexts • More streamlined unit planner • Concept-base summative assessments • Electronic and criterion-related • Personal project as a culminating task for MYP • Candidate Schools will be given maximum notice of changes but all schools will need to meet the currently established requirement
