  9. Screening Pool • Identifies top 15% of student population • To qualify students need 93rd percentile in one of the following: • ITBS Core Total • *ITBS scores based on Iowa Norms • CogAT Composite

Elementary Screening for top 3-5% • Multiple Selection Criteria • 90th percentile in the following • CogAT - verbal, quantitative, nonverbal • ITBS - Reading Total and Math Total • Open Ended Student Response • Writing Samples • Creativity Test • Rating Scale - ability, creativity, task commitment • Classroom teacher, teacher librarian, and art teacher

BMS Screening for top 3-5% • Multiple Selection Criteria • 90th percentile in the following • CogAT - verbal, quantitative, nonverbal • ITBS - Reading Total and Vocabulary Total • Open Ended Student Response • Writing Samples • Rating Scale - ability, creativity, task commitment, need for services • Classroom achievement
