The house will have one shutoff for all amenities and be monitored on line from the owners home elsewhere. SUSTAINABLE & GREEN DESIGN: A WESTPORT RESIDENCE WELL ON ITS WAY … LARRY WALSH Architect, & owner for the last 35 years COTTAGE REMODEL 23 ½ Sheldon St. Providence In gutting the building, we discovered an est. 1764 mortis and tendon structure with wooden pegs. In the crawl space there was also evidence of a cobble- stone street and a central fire place. The building and general contracting were done by Walsh Architect BETH BOMAR Manages the administrative functions within the office. FINALLY OUT OF THE WIND IN NEWPORT, RI CHRISTIAN BEZAMET Architectural Design Consultant The challenge was to close off the existing terrace that overlooks the James Town Bridge and Narragansett Bay without depleting the light and views from the living room within. We made the floor to ceiling height 12 plus feet and put three large skylights on the flat roof. This makes the room feel as though you are sitting outdoors. The garage mirrors the main house in every detail. The only departure isin the use of clapboard on the wall in place of brick. The builder, Lars Arsenault, of L. J. Arsenault General Contractors, 401-339-3451 MOVED AGAIN To my home at 23 Sheldon Street in Providence, RI. The office accommodates four work stations. Our reference library and printing facilities are in the newly finished basement, as well as the model shop. MOUNT HOPE YMCA We were asked to return to design and refurbish the men’s and women’s locker rooms at the Mt. Hope YMCA. This is a continuation of our previous addition to the facility. Case Construction Company is to complete the work. JAPANESE TEA HOUSE Since I spent a number of years in Japan, this project was fun. It was also a challenge because it was to function as a small guest house as well as a place where the client could do her writing.
