  7. Sequencing Sequencing means putting things in order. When you are writing your personal narrative sequencing is important. All stories have a beginning middle and end.

  8. Sequencing If you were telling the story of a birthday party you would not want to say... Kelsey blew out the candles. I baked a chocolate cake. We ate the birthday cake. We sang happy birthday.

  9. Sequencing But if you sequence the events you would say... I baked a chocolate cake. We sang happy birthday. Kelsey blew out the candles. We ate the birthday cake.

  10. Revisions Here are some questions to ask yourself while doing your revisions on your personal narratives. Did you tell about just one event? Did you sequence the events in order? Did you include your personal feelings? How does your story sound when you read it aloud?
