  1. RCT Shift Report 21 - 29 July 2009 Jessica Leonard (+Marc) next shifter: JLL again

  2. DCS/Hardware Summary • 22 July 2009 cooling failures • Cooling failed 3 times in the afternoon, caused RMCs to turn off 48V • Time from temp rise to shutoff ~4 minutes in each case • Trip due to temperature over fault threshold • Traced to pre-CRAFT maintenance on the cooling system • Other than that, CRAFT began smoothly • . . . Until 1 PM today! • 29 July 2009 cooling failure • RMCs shut off 48 V • Everything turned back on • Breaking news . . .

  3. Pattern tests • 23 July • Crate 5 card 3 region sums (region 0,1) 128-bit stuck low • Went away with no intervention that I know of • 27 July • No errors! • 28 July • Crate 1 HF tower 5: 0 in one spot when it should not • No reoccurring problems seen

  4. Shift Call • 23 July 09 from Ivan M. • HCAL rate was 0, monitoring panel all red, calling to see if this could be related. Ended up being due to misconfiguration (something like HCAL wasn’t supposed to be in the trigger); monitoring “errors” do not necessarily correspond to real errors if some subsystem not running • 29 July 09 from Ivan M. • Calling to inform that DAQ shifter needs to call someone on RCT to confirm the masked channels correspond to the proper FEDs. RCT on-call or expert? On-call is “first line of defense” but expert is the one who deals with the mask.

  5. DQM • CRAFT09 (pre-ramp-up) • Run 108686 • EEG_EHSUMS_TAU3_DECO_25_CRAFT09 • July 26, 719 minutes • Looked at 20k events • Run 108671 • EEG_ESUMS_TAU3_DECO_25_CRAFT09 (ECAL-only) • July 26, 167 minutes • Looked at 20k events • First several long runs of CRAFT available online at test-rct.web.cern.ch/test-Rct/

  6. Iso Electrons (108686) Masked None of these errors seen in pattern tests . . .

  7. HF bit + tau bit (run 108686) • Investigations in progress

  8. Region sums (run 108686) • Again, investigations ongoing

  9. Region sums (run 108671) • ECAL-only run looks much better!
