  12. Tainan Municipal Jiansing Junior High School, Taiwan

  13. About Jiansing Strictly speaking, Jiansing junior high school is a boys’ school. There are forty-eight classes in the school. (We have almost 1500 students, aged from 13-15) In the school, the girls are the minority. Now there are just fewer than one hundred girl students in the school.

  14. Hello! Everyone! We are the students taking part in this project. There are thirty-three students in this class. But, there are only three girls. Chinese is main language but we also learn English.

  15. Buildings of Jiansing Junior High School

  16. Our classrooms are mainly in this building. Chin-Shay Lou

  17. Middle main building The school administrative sectors are in this historical building. It was built during the Japanese occupation in Taiwan 50 years ago. It was also Tainan City Hall when Taiwan became independent. It’s the oldest building in our school.

  18. The Playground There are four basketball courts, two badminton fields, a nice track, a baseball hitting field, and a big stage. We also have an indoor stadium where we can play badminton.

  19. Activities of Jiansing Junior High School

  20. The traditional Chinese drum club is one of the best clubs in our school. In this picture, they were giving a performance at the Confucius Temple in Tainan.

  21. The third graders worshiped Confucius before taking the Senior High School Entrance Exam. Look! They were serious. By doing so, Confucius will bless them for the important exam.

  22. Scouts in our school took part in the World Jamboree Camping in the UK. It was very fun and interesting. They learned a lot in the World Jamboree Camping. We are proud of them.

  23. There are also lots of famous baseball players who graduated from our school. For example, Chien-Ming Wang and Hong-Chih Kuo, both of them are excellent pitchers in the US now. • The Japanese Junior baseball team visited our school and had baseball games with the school baseball team at our school.

  24. Lunch and Break

  25. The lunch time Five, four ,three ,two ,one ! The school bell rings. • The lunch time is coming. This is what we usually have for lunch.

  26. Rice Rice is our traditional main food; it is important in our life. Before, people were too poor to eat rice, but now we eat it everyday.

  27. Soup There is tofu and fish in the soup. The soup was originated from Japan. It’s also famous food in Taiwan now.

  28. Break When you are tired, just take a rest. In the break time, everybody will play together in the classrooms , on the playground or read books in the library. Do you want to join us?

  29. School Field Trips

  30. What an attractive association illuminates. You can tell from everybody's face that everyone enjoy himself and pretended they were fighting in the jungle.

  31. This was our first school trip. We had good time there after we tried every facility in the amusement park.

  32. The Uniform of Jainsing Junior High School

  33. Uniform Wow!How cool the uniform is!We wear white shirt and gray shorts. It’s very comfortable. If a student wears it, he will be a handsome boy.

  34. Vest This is our vest. It’s black. The sign of school mark is on it. It keeps us warm in winter. You can put some things in the pockets. When you wear it, you’ll like it.

  35. Ideal clothes It is our ideal clothes. We boys hope to wear like soldiers. And the girls hope to wear mini skirts.

  37. How does Dragon Boat Festival come? 屈原( Qu Yuan) 38 Long time ago, there was a clever man whose name was Qu Yuan. Because the country’s king was laziness , he decided to do something to make his country better. Unfortunatedly, there was nobody trusted him, so he decided to kill himself. And the day was named as “Dragon Boat Festival” The Dragon Boat festival symbolizes the unique meanings of Chinese history .

  38. Things we do on Dragon Boat Festival 39 Dragon Boat race Dragon Boat Festival is highlighted by the dragon boat races, in which competing teams drive their boats forward rowing to the rhythm of pounding drums.

  39. Things we do on Dragon Boat Festival 40 Eat rice dumpling Everybody will eat Rice dumpling for Memorizing Qu Yuan on Dragon Boat festival.

  40. Things we do on Dragon Boat Festival 41 Drink Realgar wine People drink Realgar wine which is said to possess qualities for preventing evil and bringing peace.

  41. Things we do on Dragon Boat Festival 42 • Stand Eggs • Another custom practiced on Dragon boat festival is “Stand Eggs” ,if you can successfully stand an egg on its end exactly at 12:00 noon, then you will be a lucky one in the upcoming year .

  42. Things we do on Dragon Boat Festival 43 • Hang Moxa grass • People hang moxa grass in front of the door, and pasting up pictures of Chung Kuei (a nemesis of evil spirits) for warding off evil and disease .
