  1. Beck Junior High School 2009-2010 Welcome Bulldogs!!!! National Junior Honor Society

  2. Membership Requirements • Maintain leadership activities and service • Participate in two or more NJHS activities each school year OR • Five hours of outside service activities with documentation

  3. President • Conduct meetings of the general membership • Lead one Year Long Service Project • Complete other jobs deemed necessary by sponsor • Candidates for president must deliver a 2 minute speech before the whole membership on election day

  4. Vice President • Assist the president in his/her duties • Take place of the president in his/her absence • Lead one Year Long Service Project • Complete other jobs deemed necessary by sponsor • Candidates for vice president must deliver a 2 minute speech before the whole membership on election day

  5. Recording Secretary • Keep a notebook of minutes for all meetings • Lead one Year Long Service Project • Complete other jobs deemed necessary by sponsor

  6. Corresponding Secretary • Write business and social correspondences (thank you notes, newspaper announcements, etc.) • Lead one Year Long Service Project • Complete other jobs deemed necessary by sponsor

  7. Historian • Keep a record of the activities of the society and organize a scrapbook • 1-2 members can be Historian

  8. Parliamentarians • Take attendance • Help keep order at all general meetings • Monitor the participation of the membership • 2 members can be Parliamentarians

  9. Important Dates • November 10th – Notify Ms. Anthony or Mrs. Wood (in writing) which office you’re running for • November 12th – Pres and VP speeches approved by Ms. Anthony or Mrs. Wood • November 13th – NJHS Meeting Pres and VP speeches (2 min) and Election Day
