  2. Welcome I hope you receive valuable information tonight that will help your child do the very best he or she can on the Social Studies section of the iLEAP or LEAP test.

Social Studies 7th Grade • The Social Studies test is a criterion-reference test that includes items based entirely on Louisiana’s social studies content standards. • The test has forty (40) multiple-choice items of an interrogatory stem of four answer options. These items assess knowledge, conceptual understanding, and application of skills presented in the GLEs. • The Social Studies test is untimed. 60 minutes is the suggested time allowed.

  5. Social Studies 7th Grade Task • The students will have 4 documents to analyze. • They will have to answer 4 multiple-choice questions relating to the documents. (1 Point Each) • They students will have to write a multi-paragraph essay to answer a question. • They must cite evidence from the documents in their essays. • This will be worth 4 points • They will have estimated time of 45 minutes to complete the task.

Social Studies 8th Grade • The Social Studies test is a criterion-reference test that includes items based entirely on Louisiana’s social studies content standards. • The test has sixty (60) multiple-choice items of an interrogatory stem of four answer options. These items assess knowledge, conceptual understanding, and application of skills presented in the GLEs. • The Social Studies test is untimed. 170 minutes is the suggested time allowed.

  11. Social Studies 8th Grade Constructive Response • Students will have to analyze illustration, passage, or document. • They will have to write short answers (1 – 3 sentences) to answer the question given. • Each constructive response will have 4 sections and will be worth 4 points.
