  2. Possessive Nouns • A noun that shows who owns, or possesses, something is called a possessive noun. • There are several rules we use to write possessive nouns correctly.

  3. Add apostrophe and an –s to a singular noun to make it possessive. • the paw that belongs to the dog • the dog’s paw

  4. Singular Possessive Nouns A. The football belongs to Bob. • This is Bob’s football.

  12. Singular Possessive Nouns • A possessive noun is a noun that shows ownership. • To form the possessive of a singular noun, add an apostrophe and –s (‘s).

  17. Plural Possessive Nouns • When a plural noun ends with –s, add an apostrophe (‘). • When a plural noun does not end with –s, add an apostrophe and –s (‘s).
