  2. What is Math Intervention? • We designed this class to help students who need extra help for math. • Our goal is for every student to pass Algebra class and Algebra EOC.

  3. What will we learn in this class? • We preview and review Algebra 1 • We cater to individual students needs.

  4. IXL • Course Overview. IXL is an interactive, standards-based course designed to develop and maintain fundamental concepts taught in Algebra class. • The experience is highly visual. Learners work at their own pace aided by full audio support and real-world contexts for problem solving, guided interactive practice, and assessment.

  5. Will there be homework? • Occasionally, students will be asked to work on brief assignments. • If you do not complete each day’s warm up or classroom activity sheet, it will become your homework. If you do not turn it in by the next day, your score will be ZERO.

  6. What does my Math Intervention grade mean? • At ARHS, a math grade represents a student’s progress towards state learning standards. Students will receive a Pass/Fail grade based on progress towards the intervention class learning objectives.

  7. Keys for math success • Good attendance. We will learn new math skills everyday. Classroom instruction is a necessary resource for students. • Positive attitude. A positive attitude will bring confidence and competence in math.

  8. How to contact me? Email is the best way to communicate with me. • anewcomb@auburn.wed.net.edu • For an in person meeting, please arrange a time to see me in Room 410.

  9. Classroom Rules • Our computers are used only for IXL. • You are not allowed to view any other site. • No music is allowed in this classroom. • If you use any electric devices, I will confiscate them. • No food and No drinks.
