LEVEL SUCOURSE: TABs UPDATE (Default tabs for each level – updated by OLSP members) Less tabs (commonly used): more use-friendly  COURSE INFORMATION UNITS (A closer look at Quia) PODCASTS BY STUDENTS NEWS FORUMS POLLS HELP (Please refer to the “SUCourse content documents” in OLSP 2009 folder on SLOnline for content details) 7

  8. SUCOURSE FOR SECTIONS(DESIGNING YOUR OWN SUCOURSE) CHOOSING WHICH TOOLS TO USE: SITE INFO EDIT TOOLS( top left) TICK THE TOOLS YOU WISH TO ACTIVATE CLICK ON ‘CONTINUE’ & ‘FINISH’ (This way you can minimise or maximise the number of tabs on the left handside) 8

ORDERING TOOLS ( tabs on the left): • SITE INFO PAGE ORDER (top right) • CLICK ON THE TOOLS & DRAG UP OR DOWN ACCORDING TO THE ORDER YOU WISH TO HAVE • MAKING TOOLS VISIBLE / INVISIBLE TO STUDENTS • CLICK ON THE ‘LIGHT BULB’ ICON NEXT TO EACH TOOL TO HIDE / REVEAL TABS FROM / TO STUDENTS • RENAMING TOOLS • CLICK ON THE ‘PEN & PAPER’ ICON NEXT TO EACH TOOL TO EDIT TOOL NAMES • : DELETES THE TOOLS 9

MANAGING ACCESS: • IF YOU WISH TO GIVE ACCESS TO A COLLEAGUE OR A STUDENT WITH SABANCI UNIVERSITY ACCOUNT, CLICK ON ‘ADD PARTICIPANTS’ (top middle) UNDER SITE INFO. • TYPE IN USER NAME (no need to write ‘@sabanciuniv.edu’ bit) • CHOOSE THE ROLE (instructor: adds, deletes content vs student: views content) 10

IMPORTING DOCUMENTS FROM YOUR OTHER SECTION’S SUCOURSE: SITE INFO CLICK ON IMPORT FROM SITE ( top left) AMONG THE LIST OF SUCOURSES YOU GET, CHOOSE YOUR OTHER SECTION’S SUCOURSE CLICK ON THE TOOL YOU WOULD LIKE TO IMPORT (eg. Resources) CLICK ON FINISH You can combine materials from more than one site (for example, Resources from several sites). 11
