Areas of Partnership & Success • Establishment of a working relationship and commitment from IICA’s Country Representative, Dr. Gabriel, to provide consulting services to Hopkins BTIA Chapter for the creation of the first Destination Master Plan in November of 2009. • With the direct support and expertise of IICA and representative, Mrs. Ena Harvey, consultation was held in Hopkins in December of 2009. • A hard copy of the Hopkins Destination Tourism Master Plan was delivered to the Hopkins BTIA board in January of 2010

  3. In February 2010, Hopkins BTIA and IICA successfully launched the Hopkins Tourism Master Plan to over eighty five delegates in the village of Hopkins to the sound and beat of the traditional Garifuna Drums and Food.

  4. Main Themes of the Hopkins Tourism Master Plan

Projects included in the plan: • Greenhouse project for the Hopkins Holy Family School • Solar Lighting for the main streets and parks of Hopkins • Rebuild of the Police Station • Fire fighting equipment • Drainage and Road improvement for Hopkins/Sittee ring road • Community market place • Developing the Hopkins Brand

  6. Successful events cont’d • Successful Fund Raiser for Green House project and fire fighting equipment held in May 2010. • Ongoing partnership to carry through on the delivery of the Hopkins Tourism Master Plan
