  1. August 30, 2010 • Record in your Agenda. HW for tonight: Blue Ribbon Multiples worksheet • Open your behavior card. • Take out your HW: Prime or Composite? And Bumpin into Factors. Leave it on your desk. • Take out you Computation Challenge graph sheet to record your current score.

  2. Warm-Up #1 Choose a number between 10 and 100. Record your number by starting “My special number is __. I chose this number because ….” Talk about your number using the terms: odd and even. Underline these words when you use them. Explain how you know which one your number is. List at least two connections to the real world. Where have you seen your number before? When is it used? What is it known for?

Multiply a given number with any other whole number, except zero. EXAMPLE: Multiples of 9 How many multiples can a number have? An infinite number. How are multiples and factors related? A multiple is the product created by two factors.

  7. Two Minute Multiples:Just how good are your multiplication skills? • You will be given an index card with a single number on it. Put your name on the back. • The timer will be set for two minutes. • One multiple will be pulled from the bag. • If it is a multiple for your number, write it on your index card. • When time is up, each player counts the multiples written next to his number. The player with the most correct multiples wins!

  8. Multiples Maze • You will create a maze for someone else to solve by plotting multiples equal to 100 or less in a path from start to finish. • Multiples should not be written in consecutive order, so skipping multiples is allowed. • Once your path has been created, fill in the remaining boxes with random numbers. • Decorate your page if you like.
