  2. Comparison of leader • The Germany government is elected in. • It’s a 4 year term. • Germanys president is Horst Kohler. • You must be born in Germany in order to be president, you must also have experience in politics. • The government is called Government Federal Parliamentary Republic.

  3. Comparison of Lawmaking • They have freedom of speech • They have freedom of religion • They do not have the right to bear arms • Politics are federal parliamentary democratic • There is no name of the lawmaking body • Germany is unicameral

  4. Political Parties • Germany is a federal system and its power is divided between federal chambers and Bundestag • There is no symbol of there political system like there is in the U.S • Most of the parties in Germany are democratic

  5. Elections and Voting • To vote in Germany you have to be 18 years of age, and also a German citizen • You can vote in Germany every 4 years for president • In Germany they have general elections

  6. Taxes and Government Finance • In Germany they have an income tax • They also have direct and indirect taxes • They spend about 1.2 trillion dollars on military finance every year • They spend about roughly 300 billion on education in Germany every year • Over 1 trillion dollars is spent on health care each year

  7. Law • 8.75 million people are being held in prison right now in Germany • About 5.9 million criminal acts were committed last year • Also Germany does not have the death penalty in there country

  8. Current Relation with US • United States of America and Germany are neutral with each other currently. They both do have some common enemy's however like Russia for example
