This expert meeting, held in Beirut, Lebanon from October 26-28, 2011, gathered stakeholders from the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean to discuss the fisheries legal framework specific to various Mediterranean countries. The LaMed-1 Project provided critical insights into access regimes, conservation and management measures, monitoring, control and surveillance mechanisms, as well as enforcement procedures and sanctions concerning fisheries resources. This meeting aimed to enhance cooperation and improve legal frameworks to ensure sustainable fisheries in the region.
