  1. What is a renewable energy resource? By: Harley Marcum

  2. Renewable energy is energy which comes from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, and geothermal heat, which are renewable (naturally replenished).

  3. Sunlight produces solar energy Solar Panels capture the energy and helps convert it to electricity.

  4. Wind turn turbines to produce electricity. Wind mills have been used since 1180 AD

  5. The impact of rain produces energy The impact of each raindrop has the potential to produce energy.

  6. Tidal action can produce energy The ocean can produce thermal energy from the sun's heat and mechanical energy from the tides and waves.

  7. Geothermal energy Captures the earth’s internal heat to produce many types of energy.

  8. It is estimated less than 35 percent of the worlds energy is produced by a renewable resource. It is likely that as the world energy demands increase, so will the use of the many types of renewable energy producers.
