Back to School Night

St. Bernadette Catholic School offers an inclusive faith-filled environment for students with significant learning needs. The Learning Resource program provides accommodated classroom and testing accommodations through Student Assistance Plans (SAP). Our team works closely with teachers to support struggling students both informally and through the Student Support Team (SST) process.

  2. Learning Resource St. Bernadette Catholic School offers an inclusive faith-filled environment for students with significant learning needs. The Learning Resource program offers Student Assistance Plans (SAP) for students who need classroom and/or testing accommodations in order to successfully access the entire curriculum. (IEP/ 504/ evaluation) Susan Welch- Director of Learning Resource English/Language Arts, grades 6-8, Math grades K-3. Coleen Sullivan –Reading Specialist grades K-5. Hannah Silva- Math support grades 4-8.

  3. Learning Resource We recognize that all children learn differently and that other students may also require accommodations to help them best access the curriculum. Our team works with classroom teachers to evaluate, accommodate and support these struggling students both informally, working closely with the teacher, and formally through a process known as Student Support Team (SST).

How Are Grades Determined? • All students that complete the rubric (instructions) for each project/activity and work diligently will receive a 2. • Students that go above and beyond the requirements for each project/activity will receive a 3. • If a student ever averages below a 2, I will let you know.

PreK-5 Music Mrs. Sacolick • This is my 2nd year at St. Bernadette, my 8th year teaching in a Catholic school • I’m originally from Columbus, Ohio where I received my bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Ohio State • I taught Music K-8 for 6 years at a Catholic school in Ohio before moving here

  9. ¡Bienvenido! • Hola, my name is Señora Morales  • I am the new Spanish teacher for grades Pre-K thru 4th grade • Teach the Spanish language to students through listening, speaking, reading and writing with emphasis on communication • Students will benefit from being exposed to the beauty and richness of another language and culture • We will enjoy learning through song, skits, verbal and written exercises

Physical Education - Patrick Medina • Started substitute teaching for Fairfax County. • B.S. in Kinesiology from George Mason University. • Virginia Catholic Education Assoc. certified (VCEA). • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).

  14. Gross motor & physical fitness • Agility drills (warm ups) • Body weight exercises (warm ups) • Kicking to targets • Throwing/hitting to targets • Navigating obstacles • Traditional PE games

Welcome Parents!St. Bernadette Art ProgramTeacher: Connie Boneo • I have been a teacher here for 22 years and developed the art program at our school. • The projects chosen for your child follow the Diocesan Guidelines. • Specifically, we cover Art History, Art Appreciation, and Art Skills Development.
