  1. Welcome to the Goshen Media Center Ms. Grove, Media Specialist Ms. Thomas, Media Assistant

  2. General Information • DNN: Dragon News Network 7:30 am • Hours of Operation 7:30-2:00 • No Food or Drink in Media Center

  3. Media Center Procedures • Check in: Place books that need to be returned on the counter of the circulation desk. • Check out:3rd-5th grades may have two books checked out at a time. Books are checked out for 2 weeks. You may not check out Reference Materials. • Overdue Materials: You may not check out anything if you have overdue materials

  4. Media Center Procedures • Lost Books: All lost books (including textbooks) must be paid in full. • Damaged Books: Some books that are damaged can be repaired and you will be fined for the repairs. If the book is damaged beyond repair, you must pay to replace the book. • Charges to Student Account: You may not check out materials and report cards will not be issued until all fines are paid.

  5. Media Center Rules • Respect the Library Materials • Everything has a correct place • Always return materials on time • Don’t disturb others working in the library

  9. How to Find Books: • The Call Number is located on the Spine of the Book • F for Fiction • E for Everybody • REF for Reference • Numbers for Non Fiction

  10. AR Books: • Books that have AR Tests are color coded and marked on the spine

  11. Locations: • F Books are located along the left wall in the tall shelves • Books are sorted alphabetically by author’s last name • Many books that are part of a popular series are grouped together on the back right wall

  12. Locations: • Nonfiction books are located in the first two rows in the center section of the media center • Books are sorted numerically by subject • Many shelves are marked by topic

  13. Locations: • E Books (Everybody Books) are located in the last three rows in the center • Books are sorted alphabetically by author’s last name • Many books that are part of a popular series are grouped together on the center right wall

  14. Locations: • REF Books are located on the front part of the right wall • You may enjoy reference books in the media center, but they may not be checked out

  15. Check Out: • Place any books you are returning on the front counter and tell Ms. Grove or Ms. Thomas your last name to check out books.
