  4. Facebook • Audience engagement is critical. • Comments and shares are more valuable than reactions. • How do you get those?

  5. Educate Your Audience Prioritize content from a brand page

  6. Know your audience • If you expect your audience to respond to your posts, you must respond to their needs. • Create content that engages the people who follow your page. • Talk to your audience. • Avoid clickbait tactics (e.g. “Like and share”).

  12. Additional Tips for Facebook • Link groups to your page. • Buy ads. • Identify influencers and encourage them to comment on and share content.

  13. Twitter • 280 character limit started on November 7, 2017. • Only 5% of tweets sent during the test period exceeded 140 characters. • Brevity is still a priority on Twitter. • Engagement is key!

Twitter Algorithm • It’s mostly chronological. • “Ranked tweets” and “In case you missed it” sections appear first. • Media, audience engagement and user history impact ranked tweets. • Takeaway: The Twitter algorithm is easier to navigate than the Facebook algorithm, but the same content succeeds on both platforms.

  16. Instagram Multi-image posts • Launched in February 2017 • Allows for smooth swiping between images • Include up to 10 images • Choose portrait or landscape orientation. • All images in the post must have the same orientation.

  17. Instagram Stories • Allow users to share images and videos throughout the day in one place • Disappear after 24 hours and will not appear in profile or feed • Appear inside circles at top of feed • Color means something new has been added
