[History of ballet] • Ballet comes from Italy • Ballet first appear in Italy, in medieval times. • The first person who introduce ballet is Domenico da fiancenza • Ballet is more famous in France, it was France who make ballet famous all around the world. • In the 19th century, the role female ballet grew larger on stage, so ballet become known in the countries such as Britain, Germany, and Russia • Indonesia began to recognize ballet from the Dutch during the colonial time

  3. [ types of ballet ] • Story Ballet : They contain narrative, action, character, a beginning and an end. The famous story from 19th century is sleeping beauty, classic stories, even the three musketeers. • Plotless Ballet: This ballet has no story line. Instead they use movement of the body to interpret the music and create an images or express emotion.

  4. [style of ballet ] • Classical ballet: classical ballet is the oldest and most formal in the ballet styles. • Neo Classic Ballet: it was introduce in the 20th century. One of the choreographer is Goerge Balanchine. • Contemporary ballet: is influence by classical ballet and modern dance.

  5. [ Technique ] • Arabesque- a position on one leg with the other leg raised behind the body and extended in a straight line. • Attitude- A variation on the arabesque. The extended leg is raised behind the body but bent at theknee at an angle of 90 degrees. • Assemble- Lifting off the floor on one leg, andlanding on two. Legs assemble at the same time and returnto fifth position. • Croisé- A dancer stands with legs crossed at an angle to the audience. The disengaged leg may be crossed in the front or in the back. • Grande Jeté- a big jump from one foot to the other in which the working leg is brushed into the air and appears to have been thrown. • Plié - means bent, bending - of the knee or knees • Turn-out - The dancer turns his or her feet and legs out from the hip joints to a 90-degree position. • Pirouette - a rotation or spin - a complete turn of the body on one foot, on point or demi-pointe (half- pointe). • Tour enl'air(tour on lair) - a turn in the air - usually a male dancer's step, although ballerinas may do them to depending on the choreography. • Straddle split- where the legs stand to the side • Front Split- one leg stand forward, the other stands back

  6. [ outfit ] • Pointe shoes: the satin ballet shoes used by dancer when dancing on their toes. • Tutu: the sort classical ballet skirt made from many layers of net

[ cara menjadi penari ballet] • Selalu melakukan pemanasan baik otot kaki maupun otot tangan. • Tubuh harus dalam keadaan tegap. •  Penari ballet menggunakan sepatu “Point Shoes”. • Pentingnya menjaga keseimbangan tubuh. •  Selalu fokus dengan apa yang dilakukan. • penari-penari wanita tersebut harus memiliki berat tubuh yang ideal.
